Dear Trinitarians, sometimes the worlds changes while you are holding down the fort, to mix metaphors… Bruce has decided to preach on the Book of Job during the month of June, which leaves our plans for Handel’s Chandos Anthem out in left field. So, I have decided to put that one on hold until September, substituting the first part of Mendelssohn’s “Hear My Prayer,” the second part of which we sang a couple of years ago. After listening to the link below, I think you will agree that this is the perfect piece for us to sing in support of his message. I will have copies of it for us when we meet on May 6 to sing “Praise God, from whom All Blessings Flow,” as planned. Thanks for understanding. Now click on the link and listen to it a bunch of times, so we’ll be ready to learn it at our 10:00 rehearsal! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBYYM2B41-U

Friends, thank you so very much for last Sunday, where we brought a little peace, even to Jerusalem! I am confirming that we will not meet this Sunday. Rather, our next meeting will be between services on May 6 before singing “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow.” Please make a note of it in your calendars and have a great afternoon! God’s blessing, Chris |

Trinitarians, it’s our turn to share “O Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” at the 11:30 service this Sunday, April 15. See you at 10:00 for a rehearsal. We have lots of Handelian notes to learn! Chris |

Dear Trinitarians, Here’s a word of thanks to John B. for finding a recording of the piece we are learning. (edited). I am looking forward to our rehearsal this Sunday morning between services at 10:00. See you then! Chris P.S. A hearty welcome to Catherine Godden, who amazed us all at her ability to sight read the world’s smallest notes last rehearsal! |

Friends, I received a couple of comments after Sunday’s worship. One, “One of Trinity’s best-- simply beautiful,” made me feel a little better about our performance. We sang 98% of the piece as well or better than we ever had. Even though the final ending got messed up, it was not the end of the world. Thanks so much for your hard work. I hope you were nurtured just its preparation. I am looking forward to our next rehearsal on March 18. We’ll have a first look at Handel’s Chandos Anthem #8, “O Come, Let Us Sing Unto the Lord.” We will start learning the first of them for June. I think you’ll like it! God’s blessing, Chris |

Thanks to Roger for covering our last rehearsal. Now it’s time to show what you learned. I’m excited that we will be singing the Allegri Miserere Mei this Sunday at the 11:30 service. We will meet at 10:00 to get our ensemble sound back together again. We will also look at a new piece by Handel—not from the Messiah! See you Sunday morning, Chris |

Here is a little reminder that we will meet this Sunday at ten for a rehearsal. We’ll have a new piece to read and we will get ready for our next service on March 4. Chris |

By the way, here is a link to a performance of the Allegri we are singing. If you look along the side, you will see several other versions to enjoy. |

Friends, thank you for the delight in making Hammerschmidt live again! Despite our mid-course corrections, we landed safely to sing another day. We’ll gather in two weeks on February 19th, but I couldn’t wait that long to get the attached schedule revision (to view revised schedule, click here) to you. God’s Blessing, Chris |

We are on to sing our wonderful Hammerschmidt anthem this weekend. I have rehearsed with the string players, the harpsichord is tuned, so be sure to arrive in time for a ten o’clock rehearsal Sunday morning. We will look at two other anthems (Allegri and Goss) as well. See you then. Wear black! Chris |

Friends, I am looking forward to our rehearsal this Sunday morning at 10:00. We will look at the Hammerschmidt and Allegri from last time along with a new piece to keep us moving forward through the year and this delightful literature. See you then! Chris |

Happy New Year, everyone! I’m looking forward to our first rehearsal of the new year this Sunday morning, January 8, at 10:00. We will be singing Attwood’s “Teach Me, O Lord” at the 11:30 service afterward. Remember to wear black! See you Sunday, Chris |
